Lenses

No patient is the same. We personally custom design lenses based on the patient's prescription, frame they select, work, and lifestyle needs. Each patient's prescription is analyzed by our Technicians to provide the very best lenses available. We constantly monitor the market and keep abreast of the many lens options available and use only the highest quality materials and manufacturers. If a new material or lens design comes on the market, we know about it and we inform our patients.

High Plus or High Minus Prescriptions

No longer must a high plus patient endure thick centered lenses and pupil magnification, or a high minus endure thick edges with the "coke-bottle appearance" as in the past. Lens materials with high refractive indexes, edge treatments, anti-reflective coatings, tints and lens styles all but eliminate these previous concerns for most patients. All patients can now have thin and attractive, light weight, and optically clear lenses. Not all lenses are optically clear--we demand quality from our suppliers.

Anti-reflective Coating

Our use of anti-reflective coatings is extensive. Our anti-reflective coatings are superior and recognized nationwide as one of the best available. These coatings are wonderful for night time driving as they help to eliminate the glare from car lights and circles around lights and they increase acuity at night, by allowing approximately 8% more light through the lenses for sharper night time driving. They also reduce computer glare, make higher index materials appear thinner, and provide a great overall personal facial look--no more glare in pictures and allows people to see your eyes and not shiny reflected light. They enhance eye appearance and color as well. They carry a much tougher scratch coating as well as UV coating.

Computer Lenses

Excellent choice for patients who spend hours in front of a computer screen resulting in computer stress (headaches, blurred vision, tired/burning eyes, neck pain, and other visual disturbances).

No-Line Bifocals -- Progressive addition lenses

Eliminate those lines and achieve a broad view of vision at all distances--close, intermediate, and distance. We use primarily Varilux ® progressive products. They offer superior vision at all distances. For those who have said they can't wear no-line or progressives--"let us show you that you can".

Our success in fitting no-line or progressives is based on:
  • The correct prescription arrived at by the Doctor and patient.
  • Correct PD-pupillary distance.
  • Correct placement of the progressive in the patient's chosen frame- not too high or too low---just right.
  • Correct frame for your facial shape and adequate room for placement of progressive.
  • Superior lens design-what we feel is the best design available. "They are not all the same.
  • Correct fitting and adjustment of the frame to your needs..

We offer manufacturers such as: Optical lens care tips:
  • Never clean lenses with paper items such as tissues, paper towels, or small packaged cleaners often found in factories or stores.
  • First run water over your lenses if possible, spray with our cleaner as needed, dry with our cloth or a soft cotton cloth. Water washes away dirt/dust that can cause hairline scratches when drying lenses. NEVER use other lens cleaners as some contain alcohol. Cloths are washable. Keep our spray cleaners away from young children.
  • Never use alcohol, vinegar, window cleaner, ammonia or soap to clean lenses.
  • Stop in for adjustments periodically, minor adjustments are free.
  • Replace nose pads yearly. You may not see their discolorations, but others do! Old nose pads lose their ability to keep your glasses secure on your nose.
  • Second pairs with a current RX are 50% off frames and single vision lenses and 40% off multi focal lenses. Great if you lose, destroy or want backup glasses/sunglasses.
